Calling all swimmers!! Our season is about to begin.

The Canon City Piranha Swim Team is still swimming even in the wake of the closure of the R.C. Icabone Swimming Pool.

The Canon City Swim Team is inviting indivudals who LOVE to swim. If you are between the ages of 6 and 18, live in Fremont County or the surrounding areas, and LOVE being in the water, come join the team.

Team practice begins the last week of May at the Florence pool and continues through the first week of August. Swim meets are held on weekends throughout the summer season. Meet locations include: Salida, Pueblo West, Las Animas, Rocky Ford, Alamosa, Pueblo, La Junta and Lamar. Attending meets is not a requirement by the team, but they are a lot of fun to participate in.

Start of the Season Open House:

Wednesday May 8, 2024, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Canon City Area Recreation and Park District Community Room-575 Ash St.

New and seasoned swimmers and parents are invited to the event. Important information will be provided. Registration and suit sizing kits will be available.

Fee: $250 (includes expert instruction, pool use fee, team T-shirt)

Not included in the fee: swim suits, caps, goggles, towels and meet fees, required USA Swimming registration/insurance ($5 or $47). Sibling discounts are avaiable for swim families.

Requirements: Ages 6-18, capable of swimming 25 yards, and LOVE swimming.
