Dog Park Improvement Project

The Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District received grant funding to improve the Arkansas Riverwalk Dog Park.  This includes adding a small dog park, widening the walking track, improving signage, adding benches and tables, replacing the agility equipment, and adding other dog park equipment. 

In January the Recreation District parks staff began installing the small dog park, walking track expansion, and new signage.  The week of March 3rd, A to Z Recreation installed the agility equipment and some additional signage.  Boulders  were also added for the dogs to climb on. 

District crews packed and widened the crusher fine trail in the large dog park.  There is also a walking trail in the small dog park.  

The project is complete!   Come check out the park with your canine friends.  Photos of the work in progress are below.
