Aftermath Community Trick-or-Treat

The Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District runs Aftermath Haunted House each year. This event funds the programs department, helping keep youth programs affordable and meet the community's socioeconomic needs. Aftermath is designed to scare people and is not designed for younger participants. This year, rather than operating on Halloween, we decided to do something different. From 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday, October 31st, we will offer a free, family-friendly Trick-or-Treating event. Parents can bring their kids to the Aftermath Haunted House, go through the house with the lights on, and meet some of our actors. There will be no scaring. Instead of scaring you, the actors will hand out candy donated by the Recreation District and other community partners. This lets Aftermath and our friends give back to the youth in our community by letting them experience the house and get some candy.
To participate, park by the Dog Park and Archery Range along Ash Street. Go to the yellow gate next to the dog park and walk down the driveway to the house. Along the trail and inside the house, our actors will hand out candy. The gate will open at 12 pm and close at 2 pm. Come on out and see Aftermath in a completely different way. Candy will be available until we run out, but you can still check out the haunted house in a family-friendly environment. Afterward, head downtown to Cañon City to enjoy the trick-or-treat event on Main Street from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The Recreation District encourages you to celebrate Halloween with us and the amazing businesses on Main Street.
